Manchester City 2-1 Sunderland: Former Manchester United midfielder Paddy McNair scores late own goal to gift first Premier League victory to Pep Guardiola

Paddy McNair scored an 87th minute own goal as Pep Guardiola celebrated victory in his first Premier League game in charge of Manchester City.

The Blues went ahead after just three minutes when Sergio Aguero scored from the spot after Raheem Sterling was fouled by Sunderland defender defender Patrick van Aanholt in the box.

But Sunderland striker Defoe equalised in the 71st minute when he latched on to Jack Rodwell's clever through ball to slip the ball past City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

But McNair turned the ball into his own net in the 87th minute.
