Lamine Kone has rejected the offer of a new contract at Sunderland as he continues to try to force through a move to Everton.

The Toffees have made a £14million offer for the Ivorian centre-back, who signed for the Black Cats for £5m in January.

Kone had asked for an improvement on his four-year deal but, despite being presented with new terms on Thursday, he has turned down the club's offer.
