Jamie Carragher slams 'lazy' Lamine Kone after Sunderland's loss to Arsenal as he claims they are even worse than Aston Villa last season

Jamie Carragher has slammed Sunderland defender Lamine Kone after his performance against Arsenal at the weekend.

Kone's arrival at the Stadium of Light in January coincided with a turnaround in form for Sunderland last season and he played a key role in the north east side escaping relegation under Sam Allardyce.

The 27-year-old was subject to significant interest in the summer transfer window, not least a £14million bid from Everton. Despite signing a new contract to keep him at Sunderland after the window closed, he seemed keen to exit the club and was dropped.
