James McClean BOOED for his latest poppy snub during Wigan's draw with Swansea... after opening up on the 'eight years of sickening abuse' he has suffered because of his nationality and slamming the authorities for failing to take action

James McClean has again been subject to boos from the crowd for his continued stance against the remembrance day poppy.

McClean, 33, played the first hour of Wigan Athletic's 2-2 against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, before being substituted for Thelo Aasgaard. McClean provided the assists for both goals by Will Keane and Tom Naylor in the opening 16 minutes.

The Irish international continued his long-held decision not to wear the poppy, which some Wigan players chose to wear on armbands. McClean first made this personal call in 2012, but move continues to cause controversy a decade later.
