Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp remains optimistic about Philippe Coutinho's ankle injury after the influential playmaker was carried off on a stretcher in the 2-0 win over Sunderland.
The Brazil international was accidentally caught by Didier N’Dong half an hour into the game and later left Anfield on crutches with his right foot in a protective boot, although he will not be able undergo a scan on the injury until Sunday at the earliest.
The playmaker has played a major part in Liverpool's emergence as title challengers this season and is their leading scorer with six goals in all competitions, having created countless other chances for his teammates.
