Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has told talkSPORT he ‘quite enjoys’ the pressure of being the club’s best hope of sealing Premier League survival.
Defoe is in red hot form for the Black Cats, with the 34-year-old hitman taking his tally to 14 goals this season with a well taken brace against Crystal Palace.
Saturday's 4-0 thrashing of the Eagles was Sunderland’s first win in seven games, and although they remain at the bottom of the table, they are now just two points adrift of safety.
Defoe scored a total of 18 last season as the Wearside escaped the clutches of relegation by the skin of their teeth.
