Tom Cairney scored a superb individual goal to earn Fulham a FA Cup fourth round replay after Marco Silva's side were put to the test by Sunderland.
The Championship side took a sixth minute lead at Craven Cottage when Jack Clarke seized on a mistake by Issa Diop, before slotting beyond Marek Rodak.
Fulham improved after half-time, with Cairney drawing the hosts level on the hour mark.
