Former Sunderland boss David Moyes hit with £30,000 fine for 'slap' remark to female journalist

Former Sunderland manager David Moyes has been fined £30,000 for his "slap" comment towards a journalist in March, the Football Association has announced.

Moyes had requested a personal hearing after being charged over the exchange with BBC Newcastle and Five Live reporter Vicki Sparks, following Sunderland's goalless draw with Burnley at the Stadium of Light on March 18.

Video footage showed the Scot warning Sparks she "might get a slap" after he took exception to a question she had asked during a post-match interview.
