David Moyes believes Jermain Defoe’s England call up can be good news for Sunderland.
The 34-year-old, who has scored 14 goals this season for the bottom-of-the-table Black Cats, was a shock inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s squad to face Germany and Lithuania.
Moyes could be forgiven for fearing the worst, given an injury on international duty to Defoe could wreck his side’s remaining chances of staying in the top flight.

But the Scot, speaking ahead of Saturday's home clash with Burnley, reckons it could make a move to the Stadium of Light a more attractive proposition for players.
