Sam Allardyce has renewed his interest in Sunderland left-back Patrick van Aanholt.
The Crystal Palace boss was left disappointed on Thursday after his move for No 1 target Carl Jenkinson collapsed over personal terms.
Allardyce is desperate to land defensive reinforcements this month and has launched another bid to sign Van Aanholt - a player he worked with at the Stadium of Light last season.

Palace have already had a bid, understood to be worth £7million, rejected by the Black Cats.
It remains to be seen whether the Sunderland’s hierarchy are tempted to sell Van Aanholt to balance the books even though they are battling against relegation.
