Sunderland have turned their attention to Chris Coleman as they consider candidates to become their new manager.
The Wales coach is interested in talking to the Championship strugglers as he looks to take on a new challenge.
Sunderland had been discussing Barnsley's Paul Heckingbottom and ex Rangers boss Ally McCoist but Coleman has now emerged as the favourite to succeed Simon Grayson.

Another option, Michael O'Neill, the Northern Ireland manager, is considering an approach from Scotland.
