Bradley Lowery awarded honorary 41st place on the racecard for Saturday's Grand National at Aintree

Grand National organisers have awarded an honorary 41st place in Saturday's race at Aintree to Bradley Lowery, the five-year-old Sunderland fan battling cancer.

Jockey Club Racecourses have given Lowery a place on the racecard to help raise awareness of his cause and of Neuroblastoma, the disease he is fighting.

Lowery has his own set of colours - red and white like Sunderland's trademark home kit - with Black Cats striker Jermain Defoe listed as his trainer.
