Former Cardiff and Newcastle striker Michael Chopra has spoken out about his battle with gambling addiction - admitting he thought about betting 'as soon as the final whistle went'.

Chopra was something of a journeyman during his football career and turned out for ten clubs across his 16-year spell in the game, scoring 119 goals in total.

He started his career with the Magpies and also played Premier League football for their rivals Sunderland before finishing his career in the Football League and enjoying a couple of years in India.
