Slow start, but better 2nd half leads App State to a win over ETSU

The coach Eli Drinkwitz era got off to a slow, but eventually promising start in a 42-7 win over East Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was absolutely abysmal to watch from an offensive perspective for App State fans as QB Zac Thomas struggled to get in sync.

WR Corey Sutton served his one-game suspension due to legal trouble from back over the summer and at times his absence was clearly noticeable. However, Thomas Hennigan reminded everyone he can be an effective, sure-handed force with 7 receptions for 75 yards and a highlight catch and score between 2 ETSU DBs.
