Louisiana Comeback Bid Falls Just Short in 68 Ventures Bowl

NEW ORLEANS – One of seven teams in the nation to play in a bowl game in each of the last eight seasons, Louisiana fell to Delaware, 20-13 in the 68 Ventures Bowl in Mobile, Ala.

The Ragin’ Cajuns—who were part of the Sun Belt’s 10-team bowl contingent that leads all non-autonomy conferences for the fourth-straight season—dropped to 7-6 in 13 all-time bowl appearances.

Redshirt senior defensive lineman Jordan Lawson blocked a 52-yard Delaware field goal attempt, which redshirt junior linebacker Jake St. Andre recovered to spark a Louisiana fourth-quarter comeback bid. On the ensuing drive, redshirt sophomore quarterback Lunch Winfield led Louisiana on a 10-play, 46-yard scoring march, capped by an eight-yard touchdown connection with redshirt sophomore wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr.
