NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana closed the shortened 2020 softball season ranked eighth in the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 and ninth in the ESPN.com/USA Softball and Softball America Top 25 polls.
Louisiana (18-6, 2-1 Sun Belt Conference) was ranked in the both USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls every week. The Ragin' Cajuns entered season as a consensus top 10 pick among the six national preseason polls.
