FOLEY, Ala. - Arkansas State and Texas State battled to a scoreless draw in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Championship on Wednesday, but it was the third-seeded Red Wolves who would advance on penalty kicks, 4-1.
With the draw, the Red Wolves improve to 9-5-4 on the season and faces the winner of the second of the four first-round matchups between No. 2 Troy and No. 7 Louisiana. The first semifinal is set for Friday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. CT. The Bobcats season comes to an end with a 9-7-3.
Friday's semifinals appearance is the first since 2013 for the Red Wolves.
