Appalachian State Earns Right to Host Sun Belt Football Championship Game

NEW ORLEANS – With the win in its regular-season finale against Troy, Appalachian State earned the right to host the Sun Belt Football Championship Game for the second-straight year.

The East Division champion Mountaineers (11-1, 7-1 Sun Belt) are set to host West Division champion Louisiana (9-2, 6-1) in a rematch of the inaugural champion game a season ago. The 2019 edition of Sun Belt's title game is Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. CT/Noon ET on ESPN immediately following college football's premier pregame show, ESPN College GameDay.

Appalachian State has won all seven previous meetings with the Ragin' Cajuns, including a 30-19 victory in the 2018 Sun Belt Football Championship Game.
