Stoke City are set to offer Ryan Shawcross a new contract once the season finishes to secure his future at the club.
Shawcross enters the final 12 months of his current terms this summer and delays in opening negotiations have led to uncertainty about the club captain extending his decade-long stay.
But Stoke are ready to act with a long-term proposal that could be Shawcross's last major deal, taking him well into his 30s.

The 29-year-old has been a cornerstone of Stoke’s stability in the Premier League since joining for £1million from Manchester United, playing more than 370 games under Tony Pulis and Mark Hughes, and helping take his team to three consecutive ninth-place finishes.
