Nottingham Forest HIJACK Cardiff's attempts to sign Sam Surridge for £2m as Stoke winger looks set for reunion with Steve Cooper who he worked with at Swansea

Nottingham Forest have launched a £2million bid to hijack Cardiff City's move for Sam Surridge.

The Stoke City forward was heading to Wales this morning ready to sign for Steve Morison at Cardiff.

However, Forest contacted Stoke to see if they could strike a deal instead and he is now closing on a move to the City Ground where he will link up once again with manager Steve Cooper.

Surridge, 23, played under Cooper during a loan spell at Swansea in 2019-20, scoring four goals in 20 appearances.
