Liverpool are close to sealing the signing of Jack Butland for £40m, according to reports.
Butland, the Stoke City goalkeeper, has long been linked with some of England’s biggest clubs following a series of excellent displays at the bet365 Stadium. An England international, many feel Butland will wear the No.1 shirt for the Three Lions at this summer’s World Cup.
Stoke accept Butland wants to leave to further his career, but they know they can demand a hefty fee for a player who is also wanted by Arsenal.
The Potters are demanding around £40m for Butland, according to the Mirror, which would make the 24-year-old the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the game.
