Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has been charged with misconduct following his dismissal on Saturday.
Hughes was sent to the stands during Stoke's 4-0 loss to Tottenham by referee Anthony Taylor after alleged verbal abuse directed at fourth official Jon Moss.
The incident came after Marko Arnautovic was booked for diving.
Hughes has until Friday to respond to the charge from the Football Association, which said "his behaviour amounted to improper conduct."
The manager's prematch programme notes had included a moan over penalty decisions given against the Potters in previous fixtures, with Stoke bottom of the Premier League table after a third defeat in four games.
