Jack Butland has told talkSPORT he believes he can make himself England’s number one for the 2018 World Cup.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate stuck with Joe Hart for the recent World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia and publicly assured the West Ham man he is still his first-choice goalkeeper.
But Butland, who has started the season impressively for Stoke having returned to fitness after a year-long injury absence, insists he can yet dislodge his friend and rival Hart before next summer’s finals.
