Jack Butland has told talkSPORT his Euro 2016 injury heartbreak has fuelled his motivation and desire to make the England squad for this summer’s World Cup.

The Stoke City goalkeeper was ruled out of the European Championships in France two years ago after fracturing his ankle in a warm-up friendly against Germany in Berlin.

It was a devastating blow for the youngster just ten weeks before the tournament, which meant he stayed at home to begin rehabilitation ahead of the new Premier League season.
