Espanyol 1-2 Real Madrid: Karim Benzema netted a last-gasp brace to maintain Los Blancos' perfect start to the season

Karim Benzema's last-gasp brace maintained Real Madrid's perfect start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Espanyol on Sunday.

Los Blancos took the lead in Barcelona as winger Vinicius Junior finished off a perfectly crafted move following superb work from new signing Aurelien Tchouameni after just 12 minutes.

The hosts then drew level on the stroke of half time via a powerful finish from former Stoke City and Newcastle United striker Joselu in the 43rd minute.

Yet Carlo Ancelotti's side took the lead in the 88th minute when talisman Benzema turned substitute Rodrygo's cross in at the back post.
