Welcome to a Brief History of Big Game. In honor of the 120th playing of this great rivalry, I’ll be looking back at some of the highlights that dot its illustrious history.
The rivalry between the Stanford Cardinal and California Golden Bears is a special one. It is the oldest rivalry played on the West Coast, predating the Apple Cup and Civil War by a couple of years, and the USC-UCLA rivalry by decades. The Big Game has featured some of the greatest players and most memorable plays in the history of football.
