Stanford took home the men’s and women’s Capital One Cup trophies and a combined $400,000 in scholarships during the Utah game Saturday.
The Capital One Cup is awarded annually to the best men’s and women’s Division I athletics programs for their cumulative on-field performance across multiple sports. Stanford is the first-ever university to secure a dual win in the same season. The Stanford women repeat as Cup champions and have won five total, while the men claimed their second Cup.
After winning a National Championship in both men’s and women’s soccer to start the fall, the Stanford women racked up two more championships in swimming and diving, as well as tennis.
