The Stanford men's basketball team has opted not to participate in a post season tournament this year according to Tom Fitzgerald of the San Francisco Chronicle. Stanford unsurprisingly was not invited to the 2016 NCAA Tournament, and missed out on a return invitation to the NIT. The University was unsure if they received an invite to the CBI, Vegas 16 or any other postseason tournament, but the Cardinal will decline any invitations for postseason competition that may head their way.
It has been a frustrating and at times insufferable season for Stanford basketball fans, a season that is now officially over.
