David Shaw was asked after practice Wednesday night who he thought were the most underappreciated players on the Cardinal. He started with fullback Daniel Marx, who’s out for the rest of the season with a lower leg injury he sustained in the Big Game.
“I’d be surprised if there’s a better fullback in America for what he does,’’ Shaw said. “Only a sophomore. He’s going to keep getter better.’’
He also mentioned right guard Johnny Caspers, a red-shirt junior who has been overshadowed by left guard Josh Garnett, an All-America candidate. “Johnny Caspers is playing really well,’’ Shaw said.
