The day is finally here and we’re one win away from Stanford Cardinal Women’s Basketball head coach Tara VanDerveer breaking the record and becoming the sports all-time winningest head coach. Just two days after tying the legendary Pat Summitt with 1,098 coaching victories, coach VanDerveer and her Cardinal team are in action against Pacific from Stockton, California.
The Cardinal are 4-0 and have beaten the first four opponents by an average of 48 points per game so it’s highly likely that this Stanford team gets coach Tara her record-breaking victory tonight. Pacific has had their first three games of the season cancelled, however, so we don’t know the caliber of team that the Cardinal will face when they tipoff against the Tigers.
