Opening the door to the postseason, Stanford Cardinal sophomore Grant Fisher picked up right where he left off from the fall, where he finished 5th in the nation at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Fisher took the 1500m gold at the Pac-12 Championships at the historic Hayward Field last Sunday, battling out a strategic race to win in 3:54.67s and become the 9th Cardinal to ever do it.
The race started off slowly, making it clear that it would come down to tactics and not ability. Fisher tucked into the front pack and held, saving up for what evolved into a kicker’s race.
