Stanford Recruiting Roundup: Two Prospects Inch Closer To Picking The Cardinal

There's less than a month now before National Signing Day, and Stanford HC David Shaw is putting the finishing touches on a recruiting class that could move into the nation's Top 25...if a few things go their way in the next few weeks. Here's the latest:

Bryce Love

The four-star running back (pictured above) from Wake Forest, NC is down to Stanford and Tennessee, and the Cardinal are looking more and more like his most likely destination. Love will visit Palo Alto this weekend and Knoxville the weekend after, but at this point, most analysts and scouts are hearing Stanford has the edge. Stanford's coaches - including David Shaw - have made Love a high priority in recent weeks, and their late push sounds like it's having the desired effect.

Jordan Fox

Fox is a three-star LB from Jersey City, NJ, and it sounds like he's very close to picking Stanford. It's down to the Cardinal and UVA, and he'll visit both in the coming weeks before making his decision. It speaks volumes, though, that 84% of analysts on 247.com have him going to Stanford, compared to just 8% picking UVA (for you math guys out there, the final 8% have him going to Boston College, which looked like a possibility until very recently).

Ben Edwards

A three-star safety from Jacksonville, FL, Edwards committed to Stanford on December 29th and recently announced that he's no longer interested in talking to other schools. Edwards was being recruited heavily by Notre Dame, but he's now considered a lock for the Cardinal.

Justin Reid

The four-star safety will visit Stanford, Notre Dame and LSU before making his final decision, but it sounds like LSU is the most likely destination at this point. With Edwards already committed, though, it's much less of a blow to the incoming 2015 class.
