The Cardinals may soon have their leader back. Catcher Yadier Molina told reporters Friday that he hopes to return to the diamond Tuesday and catch ace Carlos Martinez, who is also scheduled to come off the disabled list and pitch that day against the Marlins at Busch Stadium.
Speaking before St. Louis' matchup against the rival Pirates on Friday, Molina described his recent injury as "the worst pain" in his life. The backstop was forced to exit the Cardinals' May 5 matchup against the Cubs after Kris Bryant fouled off a 102-mph pitch from reliever Jordan Hicks into Molina's groin area.
