Wild, Cards: Dazzling defense, timely hits carry Cardinals to frenetic extra-innings win vs. Mets

NEW YORK — Given the long, winding, cracked and sometimes jarring scenic route the Cardinals have taken to find their lane into October, it’s fitting that the win to put them ahead had to come from behind first and then, through twists and turns, via extra innings.
