Weaver finally beats Cubs, aided by timely hits from DeJong and Molina

Unable to pitch past the fourth inning in any of his previous five starts against the National League Central Division leaders in his career, including three times this year, Weaver held the Cubs to two runs in six innings. The Cardinals yet again refused to drift under the .500 mark as Paul DeJong drove in three runs with three hits and Yadier Molina also had three hits in a 5-2 victory before a sellout crowd of 47,169, the largest of the season, at Busch Stadium.
