Wacha gives up four in four as Cards lose 7-3

JUPITER, Fla. • Michael Wacha got his work in Saturday, throwing 68 pitches in his third start of the spring. But that took him through just four innings and the Cardinals’ righthander allowed four runs on six hits, giving up a home run and throwing a wild pitch, as the Cardinals lost to Miami 7-3 in exhibition baseball.

Lefthander Brett Cecil made his first appearance in a scheduled game and also allowed a homer in one inning. Veteran righthander Jason Motte, after giving up hits to the first two men to face him, wriggled out of a sixth-inning spot with the aid of two strikeouts.
