With the hole in the rotation created by Adam Wainwright‘s torn Achilles tendon, the St. Louis Cardinals called up Tim Cooney to make his major league debut this upcoming Thursday. Meanwhile, left-hander Tyler Lyons, who has received spot starts for the big league club over the last two years, was left in Memphis.
In light of that, Lyons made his presence felt with a dominating performance against the Round Rock Express on Tuesday night.
