The move we all figured was going to happen finally happened. Adam Wainwright will be back with the St. Louis Cardinals for another year. This contract was announced at about 11:00 am on Tuesday and as of writing, the financial terms of the deal are still unknown.
The deal will probably be more guaranteed money than the $2M Wainwright received last year as Waino proved he could still compete in 2019. While his overall numbers and road numbers may have been less than amazing, his 4.19 ERA is just average, which is all you can ask for from your fifth starter.
