The Springfield Cardinals struck for two runs in the top of the ninth, getting the tying run as far as second with only one away, but the Arkansas Travelers escaped with the 7-6 win before 6,692 fans at Dickey-Stephens Park

Cardinals 3B Jacob Wilson (2-for-4, 3 RBIs) and RF Nick Martini (3-for-4, 2 RBIs) combined for five hits and all five of Springfield’s RBIs.

The Travelers (14-7) struck early against RHP Nick Petree (L, 0-2), opening a one-run lead in the bottom of the first.
