JUPITER, Fla. — Cardinals manager Mike Shildt is pulling a rare double this spring. First, he is charged with trying to lead his team to another division title and then beyond. And there is the matter of his first visit to the altar.
Shildt, 51, and Michelle Segrave will be married on March 6 here, which is one of two off days on the Cardinals’ exhibition schedule. Clearly, the honeymoon will come later, although Shildt jokes, “Every day here (in spring training camp) is a honeymoon.”
These are two important endeavors, but Shildt said, “It’s not hard,” to give full attention to both.
