The Cardinals have received overwhelmingly bad news lately regarding injuries to their pitching staff.
Tuesday, reliever Kevin Siegrist provided some better news. Siegrist, one of three Cardinals pitchers currently on the disabled list, will leave for the Cardinals facility in Jupiter, Fla. Wednesday morning with an eye on returning to the team next week.
The left-handed Siegrist has been on the DL since August 4 with tightness in his left forearm. Manager Mike Matheny said that Siegrist will pitch in a minor league rehab assignment before rejoining the Cardinals. Siegrist would likely join either High-A Palm Beach or the Cardinals 'rookie affiliate in the Gulf Coast League.
