TEMPE, Ariz. – The first time Roy Green met Michael Bidwill as a rookie for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1979, the Arizona Cardinals president was in his mid-teens and he had a job cleaning up after the players as ball boy for the team owned by his father, Bill.
Fast-forward to Wednesday, when Green sat next to the younger Bidwill in the Cardinals’ Tempe practice facility during a news conference to announce Green’s induction to the team’s Ring of Honor. Green looked back about the moments after Bidwill told him about his decision to make him the 16th member of the Ring of Honor.
