Alex Reyes' first big-league start featured something else he had yet to have in his major-league career: a run for the other team.
Reyes came out after 4 2/3 innings and his successor, Zach Duke, walked in a runner who Reyes had put on base to end his scoreless streak at 14 innings. That was the only run the Athletics could score and the Cardinals led 2-1 after five innings.
The line for Reyes' much-anticipated first start in the majors was 4 2/3 innings, two hits, four walks and four strikeouts. He threw hard but not always under control.
