Relievers shine as Cards, Pirates are tied in 11th

PITTSBURGH • Cardinals relievers struck out nine hitters from the sixth through the 10th innings Tuesday night as a high-scoring joust early on with the Pittsburgh Pirates went to the 11th inning tied at 5-5.

Seung Hwan Oh struck out three, Kevin Siegrist and Trevor Rosenthal whiffed two and Jonathan Broxton and Seth Maness fanned one each as they held the Pirates without a baserunner in those five innings.

The Cardinals had a good chance to win the game in the ninth but Kolten Wong failed to get a bunt down after rookie Jeremy Hazelbaker, pinch hitting, looped a leadoff double to left for his first big-league hit.
