After a pair of rain delays washed away Jack Flaherty's chance to pitch deep, the Cardinals watched a two-run lead evaporate off some of manager Mike Matheny's most trusted arms. That included Hicks, who surrendered a career-high four runs as the evening unraveled into a 8-2 loss to the Reds.
