Ponce de Leon shrugs off come-backer, but Cards can't rally against manager-less Astros

Perhaps the best news for all involved is that it ended, though it ended quite early for one.

When a home plate umpire switch is announced before the game, and all of a sudden Angel Hernandez and his embattled strike zone are behind the plate, and then the opposing manager gets ejected in the first inning, and then the starting pitcher whose career was once nearly derailed by a come-backer takes a scary reminder off the leg, and then a rule-breaking pinch-hit goes noticed by everyone not in the press box, it becomes wise to root for the odd, and the game, to end as soon as possible, before something else happens.
