Pena to DL; Peralta out of lineup

It's back to the disabled list for Cardinals backup catcher Brayan Pena, who lasted but eight days after his activation.

And it's on to the big leagues for Alberto Rosario, the Memphis Redbirds catcher who is in his 11th professional season and will be making his major-league debut when the Cardinals use him in a game.

Pena was unsure if he would be ready after two weeks.

Pena was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Wednesday's game against the Pirates because of left knee inflammation. He opened the season on the DL and missed 75 games after having left knee surgery in April.
