Ozuna's three-run homer (off Wainwright) paces Cardinals to win vs. Redbirds

The visiting for the Cardinals called for a righthander from the home bullpen. That's right. A reliever wearing home whites came out to pitch against a hitter wearing home whites, and he was relieving a pitcher in a spring training jersey and road-gray pants. It was that kind of evening.

The Cardinals held on late to win, 6-3, against their Class AAA affiliate on Monday night at AutoZone Park. The Cardinals' first visit to face their top affiliate since 2017 included Adam Wainwright starting against the Cardinals and a parade of relievers coming in, by design. Marcell Ozuna hit a three-run homer of Wainwright in the third inning to give the Cardinals the lead and add to the oddity of the evening.
