The Cardinals (10-23) got out to a quick start, seizing the lead in the top of the first inning against LHP Daniel Stumpf. RF Jeremy Hazelbaker, who was signed by St. Louis and transferred to Springfield today, sparked the offense with a one-out single in his first plate appearance as a Cardinal.
