Class AA Springfield shortstop Aledmys Diaz slugged an eighth-inning grand slam that propelled the Cardinals over Northwest Arkansas in Wednesday's 6-3 victory.
Springfield trailed 3-0 headed into the bottom of the eighth, then cut the lead to 3-2. The Cardinals loaded the bases, and Diaz clubbed his home run to give Springfield the lead.
It was the fifth home run of 2015 for the shortstop. He went 2 for 4 and is batting .247.
